Welcome home Drew. The best vacation for an expat is, always, going home. I know you always have that urge to ride (proven by the first 2 blog posts after you landed in Seattle are about the bike friendliness and a high end bke shop talking to a total stranger, hahaha), but do spend precious time with your family and friends, at home....
Funny, "home" is now Taiwan. I now have a quasi-outsider's viewpoint of Seattle. I had a bit of a shock when I went to get some exercise as a volunteer instructor with my old high school wrestling team... only to find that the new coach was using his "mandatory" wrestling camp as a proselytizing venue for his fundamentalist Foursquare church. I had to leave immediately and contact the school district. Crazy!
I did get to see my mother, aunt, uncle, cousin... and those people I consider family by their closeness of character and not genes.
Drew, you lucky man, pigs in a blanket. I so miss such comfort food. The weather is looking fantastic, you sure you're in Seattle?
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been freezing ass cold until 3:00pm before the sun breaks through the clouds.

Looks like a blast, especially the pancakes!
